Federation of
Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada

The Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada was established in 1966 to facilitate collaboration among the six autonomous congregations.

Today, we continue to empower one another in the passionate living of our charism of active and inclusive love. We are part of this Federation. We collaborate with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie; the Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada; and with Sisters of St. Joseph globally.

In 2017, the members of the Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada, were the first group of religious communities in Canada to be designated a Blue Community which supports the right to safe drinking water without the need for bottled water.

Together, we respond to the evolving reality of our world, bringing healing and hope to all creation.

Out of deep respect for those who have cared for these lands since time immemorial, we are committed to tread lightly on the land, protect water as sacred, and affirm our desire for right relations with all Indigenous Peoples. - From our CSJ Land Acknowledgement
