srbonSister Mary Dailey, CSJ (formerly Sister Marie Antoinette) died peacefully at Sisters of St. Joseph Residence, 2 O’Connor Drive, Toronto, Ontario, on August 5, 2021.

She is predeceased by her parents, George Dailey and Alice McHenry, her three sisters, Margaret, Judith and Joan, as well as her two brothers, William and Hugh. Sister Mary will be sadly missed by her family, friends and Sisters in community.

Sister Mary entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto on September 8, 1939. In 2020, she celebrated 80 years in the congregation. On September 23, 2019, Sister Mary celebrated her 100th birthday giving thanks to God for the many blessings in her life.

Sister Mary graduated as a registered nurse from St. Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing. She pursued further studies and obtained a post-graduate course in supervision for the operating room, certification at the University of Toronto for teaching and administration and a diploma in geriatrics from McMaster University. When Sister Mary was unable to be engaged in the nursing apostolate she trained as a medical record librarian and continued to contribute to the health care apostolate of the congregation.

For many years Sister Mary struggled with ill health and engaged in the ministry of prayer for the needs of the sick.
